The Ambassadors of Hope is a family support group composed of parents of children with cancer and advocates. It aims to provide psychosocial support for parents and families with children afflicted with cancer; to bring hope and better understanding of child cancer through education and to empower parents and families in their fight against cancer.
The Parent Support Group was inspired by Ambassador Minda Calaguian Cruz, the current Philippine Ambassador to Singapore who is a staunch advocate of children with cancer. They were organized on July 15, 2012 at Bistro Rosario and a team building activity conducted by DCCFI and Dr Rojim Sorrosa on September 9, 2012 at the Malagos Gardens Resort. Its Charter members and officers were inducted by Ambassador Cruz in ceremonies held at the Waterfront Insular Hotel last August 17, 2012.
The Ambassadors of Hope have supported various activities since their induction. They have supervised the weekly TGIF (Thank God It’s Friday) at Hope, a weekly Friday dinner with various sponsors; monthly birthday celebrations for parents; fundraising through Christmas caroling and the recent successful Survivors Day celebration on December 8, 2012.
